The Phase-I result is published as a PDF containing roll numbers of shortlisted candidates on the official RBI recruitment portal at opportunities.rbi.org.in. Individual scorecards and category-wise cut-off marks will be published separately.

The Phase-I examination is only a qualifying/screening stage. Final merit is calculated entirely based on Phase-II marks and Interview scores — Phase-I marks are NOT added to the final merit list.

Phase-II for DEPR and DSIM cadres is conducted on the same day (26 July 2026) in two shifts — candidates must attend all papers across both shifts. RBI issues a single admit card covering both shifts. No request for change of exam date, shift, centre, or venue will be entertained.

To download the Phase-II admit card, candidates will need to log in using their Registration Number and Password / Date of Birth on the official RBI recruitment portal: opportunities.rbi.org.in.

Phase-I is purely qualifying. Final merit = Phase-II marks (80%) + Interview marks (20%). Phase-I marks have no weightage in final selection.

1. Stage 1 — Phase-I (Prelims / Screening): Online objective exam held on 13–14 June 2026. 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours. Sections: General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning. Negative marking of −0.25 per wrong answer. This is a qualifying stage only — marks NOT added to final merit.
2. Stage 2 — Phase-II (Mains): Descriptive + Objective exam held on 25–26 July 2026. Papers differ by cadre (General: ESI + English + FM; DEPR: Economics + English; DSIM: Statistics Papers). Carries 80% weightage in final merit.
3. Stage 3 — Interview: Personality assessment conducted by RBI Services Board. Carries 75 marks (20% weightage) in final merit. A Psychometric Test is also conducted before the interview (qualifying only). Candidates can choose English or Hindi medium for interview.

Final Merit Formula: Phase-II Marks (80%) + Interview Marks (20%). Document Verification is conducted before final appointment. Selected candidates undergo a 2-year probation period.

The 2026 vacancy count of 60 is the lowest ever recorded for RBI Grade B, down from 120 vacancies in 2025. This makes competition significantly tighter. EWS reservation is tentative and subject to government rules and legal outcomes.

⚠️ Final year students are NOT eligible — candidates must have already completed their qualifying degree at the time of application. Eligibility is assessed as on 01 April 2026.

Attempt Limit: General category candidates are allowed a maximum of 6 attempts. There is no attempt limit for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS category candidates, subject to age limit compliance.

Candidates applying for both General and DEPR/DSIM cadres must submit separate applications and pay the fee separately for each cadre. DigiLocker integration is optionally available to auto-fill personal details. Fee once paid is non-refundable.

• Medical: Full medical coverage for self and family under RBI Medical Scheme
• Pension: Defined Benefit Pension Scheme (one of the very few institutions in India still offering this)
• Concessional Loans: Home loan, car loan, personal loan at concessional interest rates
• Other: Conveyance Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Family Allowance, LTC, Leave Encashment, Group Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance

The gross salary of ~₹1,54,936/- makes RBI Grade B significantly higher-paying than SBI PO (~₹94,000–₹98,000/month), making it one of the most coveted banking jobs in India.

Clearing Phase-I is mandatory to proceed to Phase-II, but only Phase-II and Interview scores determine who gets appointed as an RBI Officer Grade B. Candidates must clear the minimum sectional cut-off and overall cut-off in Phase-I to qualify.

• Educational Certificates: Graduation / Post-Graduation Degree certificates and all marksheets (all semesters/years)
• Age Proof: Class 10 Certificate or Birth Certificate
• Category Certificate: SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS — as applicable (OBC certificate must be based on income for FY 2023–24, 2024–25, and 2025–26, issued on or after 01 April 2026)
• PwBD Certificate: If applicable — issued by a competent authority
• M.Phil. / Ph.D. Degree Certificate: If claiming age relaxation on this basis
• NOC (No Objection Certificate): If currently employed in Central/State Government or PSU
• Printed copy of the online application form and Phase-II admit card
• Passport-size photographs (as specified in the interview call letter)
